At Nelson Mandela School, English and German are taught at mother tongue and partner tongue level. French and Spanish (the latter was introduced in 2007) are offered as a second or third foreign language. At present, around 240 students are taking French in grades 5 to 13. The number of students learning Spanish is about the same.

Why is it a good idea to study Spanish? Why French? Below is an overview of what is on offer, and here are answers to frequently asked questions.
